Busy Weekend for Tennis Teams

A double-header for the Mixed A team as they looked to maintain their division 1 status with two matches in two days.

On Saturday, the team travelled to Manor Park to beat their B team by 3 rubbers to 1.  The youngsters Rachel Scott and James Hodges won both of their matches, whilst the youngest member of the team, Beth Harris, won one and lost one with comparative veteran James Flynn.

After an ice bath and a gruelling massage overnight, the same 4 stepped onto court against Worcester B and played out a winning draw that secured top flight status with a third place finish. Both pairs winning a rubber each.

In other promotion news, the promotion of the men’s B team to division 3 was confirmed by the narrowest of margins.  When every result had been collated at the end of the season, the team had finished ahead of Pershore by the smallest margin of a single rubber, so congratulations to all the team members who contributed to the cause.

The mixed b team secured the division 5 title with a 3-1 loss to Moreton in Marsh B. Pat and Martyn Langston winning the rubber.

The ladies b team ended their season with a winning draw vs David Lloyd Worcester D. The pairs of Linda Garvin & Carolyn Fox and Sarah Morgan & Debbie Warren won a rubber each. The team finish the season as Division 11 champions
